| Ok, so its been a while. Im not sure anyone still reads this but here we go...
I am starting my third year at the seminary. This semester I am taking 13 hours (a crazy amount at this level) and hope to finish my degree in the spring of 2009. I am attending a new church that I really like with a great preacher and fun, contemporary worship. I am not "working" this semester so I can focus on class work. I think the fun class ths semester is going to be sacramental theology. Many of my friends are in there and we are going to have a blast. I hope everyone out there is doing well. I obviously don't check this very often so if you want to get in touch with me, my e-mail is yma_h@msn.com.
Later days!
PS - Callie is doing well -

| Finals start this coming week. I have one project to finish and a Greek final to take. It should be alright. Monday is also charge confrence at the church. At the end of the week, I'm taking the youth on thier annual ski trip. If you feel so inclined, you could pray for us, for the trip and for no injuries. The day after I return from the ski trip, I fly back to Texas for Christmas. This next week is very busy.
Tonight, a group of us was asked to relate a fond memory of Christmas past. I know I have them. My family had great Christmas-es. I remember the year that my Dad brought home an Atarii (pre-nintendo for you youngens). I remember the year that my brother and I got the first Nintendo - with Mario, Duck Hunt, and a Track & Field game. Now that I have time to think, I remember plenty of Christmases with my family and extended family.
Its just strange that when asked about it, I couldnt come up with anything.
I Have It!!!
My favorite Christmas memory occured every year. The day after Thanksgiving, we would tromp out to the storage shed and reclaim the Christmas tree from what ever had been placed on top of it, from the spiders, and from the lovely West Texas (red) Dust. We would assemble the tree, fight with the strings (knots) of lights, and finally begin placing ornaments. My brother and I would try to find each other's ornaments (babies first Christmas ornament, the pine cone we had to make into an ornament in the 3rd grade) and we would try to hide them on the tree. If you were sneaky enough, or the other sibling didnt feel like helping, thier ornaments would all be on the back side of the tree. Of course, somehow mom always seemed able to retrieve Babies 1st Christmas and place them both near the front. All of this was accomplished while listening to Charlie Brown's Christmas on record (yes, record) along with The Cabbage Patch Kids Christmas, Funny Christmas Sing A Longs, and several "real" recordings mom would request. Its the only day of the year we listened to records.
So my favorite Christmas memories happen several weeks b4 the Big Day, b4 the holiday rush makes us nuts, b4 the wrapping paper comes out. My favorite memories involve my family, working together, and enjoying each other. Its a lot of work, but in the end, Dad would light the fire place, and we would all sit in exhasted silence (the kind of exhasted silence that only comes from working like a dawg all day long, fighting with the strand of Christmas lights, having to rescue your ornaments 3-4 different times, and several glasses of egg nog). The fire would roar, the tree would glisten, and we would sit in a comotose stupor, the likes of which is generally only seen after the Thanksginving meal (which, if you remember, was only yesturday).
I hope your holidays are filled with happy memories and that more happen along your way this year. Have a merry Christmas! I think I will go dig out my holiday music =)
| Hi! I still do exist! This semester has kept me busy. I'm taking two classes and working at the church with the youth. It doesn't sound like much but it keeps me busy. Ok, I admit that I have also been playing Kingdom Hearts 2 (a playstation game for those of you who aren't nerds). I'm close to beating the game. Probably another 30 hours should do it =) I also have to confess that I will be in Texas soon. My 10 year high school reunion is the first weekend of November. I will only be in Midland for the reunion and won't have time to visit those of you in Lubbock. Sorry =( I will be back in December for Christmas and will find a weekend to make it up to Lubbock. I hope everyone is doing well. In Him - Amy | | |
| Sorry it has been a while. It probably will be again. Class has started and homework is piling up. I got my new MAC computer today. I am currently at school. When I get home, I will be able to see if I can catch someone's wireless from my apartment. I hope so. My new computer is very cool. It has a camera, and microsoft office and a bunch of other toys I haven't even found yet. back to work on class work. Later days - Amy | | |
| My birthday is this Wednesday!!! I will be 28 this year. I'm feeling pretty good about being another year older. I like where I am and what I'm doing. I won't really be able to do a party this year. I thought I would invite a bunch of friends to go out 2-stepp'n but I'm taking a class this June that has a lot of homework. Instead, I think we may just go out to Applebees on the weekend. Question for the blog:
Do you have any good stories about being 28?
Or where do you want to be when you're 28?
What do you want 4 your next birthday present?
